Robin Ha grew up reading and drawing comics. At fourteen, she moved to the United States from Seoul, Korea. Her love of stories and manga got her through some difficult years as the only Asian girl in her Southern community. Almost American Girl is a powerful and moving graphic novel memoir about immigration, belonging, and how art can save a life.
