Event Details

We’ve all heard, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.”  What if we applied that to people?  Drop-in to check out a “human book” for a 20 minute, one-on-one conversation. Each “human book” volunteer has faced prejudice or struggles, from drug and alcohol addiction to racism to post traumatic stress. Ask questions and gain an understanding of someone different from you.  Books available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Drop-ins only, no registration required.  Available human book titles:

“To Serve and Protect: Life on the Force” with Brunswick Police Chief Brian J. Ohlin
“Living With Lupus: Silent, Chronic Pain” with Kathleen Schmid
“Aaron With an A: Growing Up Transgender” with Aaron Demlow
